Television:
One of the many new and successful inventions was the television. It was very common for families to have one in their household, and from that, Hollywood stars increased more and more. |
Levittown:
Located in New York was Levittown, the first suburb. It was created by Abraham Levitt, an entrepreneur. He had created steps to building a home with two-three bedrooms. From this, the car industry skyrocketed in sales from the increase in sales for cars, since the suburbs were not located so close to town, so people would require a car to get to their job. Another huge change was fast food restaurants. It was common for the middle class to have refrigerators. The increase in suburban life didn't include a lot of blacks; racism was still strong in many parts of the United States. |
